Well, this has been a bit of a strange year so far. We started the year off by learning that my godmother's 50 year old daughter passed away mid-January. My mum was really quite sad for a while, as they were really good friends. Even more sad was the fact that my mum was overseas when it happened, and they held back the funeral so that she could attend. So she literally came home and then a couple of days later was at the funeral. We all went. It was just a really, really sad day. But something I realised while at the funeral, apart from the fact that life is short, is that You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban must be a really popular funeral song. It really is ideal. It just has the right words and the right melody that suits sad occasions.

I admit, I was a little bit spooked just after she'd died. I was scared her ghost would come back to claim the pair of shoes she had left behind when she last visited here, which was just before New Year's. The actual person, not the ghost. I don't know why I'm scared, I just am. I don't like the though. But then again, I also suppose that if I were to see one, I would also have the coping mechanism. Hopefully.

New topic now, however. So once all the funeral/general sadness died down a little bit, I get a letter from uni. It informs me that the university course I am currently doing has been discontinued, and that I will have to transfer to another campus to finish my remaining subjects. It's actually not so bad as the uni isn't too far from my house. But it did suck at first; I thought maybe I wouldn't have been able to finish the course, or I would have to start another one similar to mine.

But the most suckiest thing of all is me not being at work currently. Does anyone need anyone to work in the following areas:
- as a webdesigner. this site is one of my better examples of work
- as a waitress doing functions eg. carrying around drinks and food to posh type people
- as a writer (mostly in short story type writing, but I'll try anything once

One last thing. Is anyone able to recommend a good mobile/cell phone for me to buy? Mine is now refusing to charge, so I think I am in the market for a new one now. Currently, I am eyeing up this one. It looks so pretty, and purple.

In parting... Facebook apps that force me to spam 20 of my friends before I can find out my results drive me up the wall. If you hate that too, check out this group and/or this group
